Now this is through no fault of their own.
Growing up, they are fully dependant on us for their every need; be it food, clothes, shelter and love.
And while all of these come at a price, we have to supply their needs as best we can. However, the one cost that always irks me is the cost of toys.
The problem is that toys, like kids clothes, is something you cannot keep track of.
With clothes, it's the fact that they grow out of stuff so quickly. However there is no explanation for the toys, they just seem to pile up.
And the sad part is that the massive toy retailers know exactly what game their playing, marking up their stuff at least 100%.
So for all you parents out there, this will come as a relief.
There's this amazing company called The Toy Factory Shop. They are chain store toys shops located all over South Africa that offer toys for all ages at affordable prices.
You can find everything from baby products such as prams, to educational products such as books and stationery, to crafts, dolls and cars. The list is endless!
They also stock branded toys such as Ben 10 and Cars, which will probably cost you less than half of what it would cost at the big toy retailers.
What's also great is that they operate online as well as at stores. So if you don't have the time to pop into the store, you can just buy online.
Their delivery services include both post office and courier, so you can choose the option that suites you best.
What really intrigued me was the Under R20 tab on the website. Things for under R20 include colouring books, masks, bubbles and rubics cubes!
So if your child has a birthday coming up or you'd like to stock up on some good behaviour rewards, The Toy Factory Shop is just the place.
